Quote from our web site --

"We will be issuing another newsletter #2 shortly which will focus on the people and events of Segway Fest 2004 which took place in early October. Newsletter #3 and thereafter will only be available to members of SEG America with the advanced level of membership."
Oct. 2004

Just wondering ?

or she's taking more dancing lessons! [:0]

Or maybe as a volunteer she is quite busy working up a SegwayfesT in NH - at least that is what I have heard!

I have contributed and article - How about you all?

SEG America is always looking for volunteers to step forward and offer to help with anything we do.

A perfect example of someone stepping up to the plate is Alex Ko. He thought that SEG America was not paying enough attention to the local SEG groups or working hard enough to support start-ups. And he was right. So, he volunteered to take over the Local Group Coordinator Executive Board position and fix things from the inside.

I offer a hardy round of applause to Alex for volunteering and for already doing a great job so far.

the new Juiced newsletter is going to be great, really great.

I have already seen previews - and Itsi you RIGHT about Juiced. It will be great.

Maybe this will be a venue for the local SEGS to put out info about their own activities into print, without having to produce their own newsletters. Juiced covered one of our DCSEG glides!

Now to get some sponsorship for it. Dealers & merchandise marketers this will be a great way to reach your core market!

I would like to see Will Hopper run for president of SegAmerica.

Let us not pick on Kelsey. She is a true and bright Segway owner, who I imagine does not want to waste her time in politics and "pulling teeth" to get information for the newsletter. She would be a valued asset to any group and is more than welcome to be part of the NYC club.

Itsi, glad you are coming to DC for our Regional SegwayfesT, your DC boys are planning all kinds of fun!

Let us tell Chris of Red Key that we want cheap paid adspace for our events for him to report on a regular basis the plans and events of the clubs.

I Think SEGamerica should "farm out" Redkey As the segamerica Newsletter, Or a Special SEGAmerica newsletter every month or other month. Chris has shown his segway reporting and writing skills, and it takes the burden off the Commitee to also be 'reporters'

Note - Old thread -

Now, six plus months after my original post I am still wondering about a newsletter.
No, I'm not picking on anyone, just wondering why as an organization we have put such a low priority on this effort. For me, communication from an organization I belong to is a key benefit of membership and newsletter's are a good form of communication.
Have all efforts to publish now come to an end?

At this point in time SA has not found a volunteer to be the editor of Glide. And with that void The Red Key has come in and done a better job of keeping everyone informed of activities in the gliding community.

Glide will no doubt come back sometime in the future!

Wild Bill - volunteers are always welcome at SA! (since that is all we are is an all volunteer organization)

Hey Red Key could use the money too! Chris has some great plans for The Red Key, and money will make it happen. He shared some of them with us at the last SA board meeting.

By-Laws are now being worked on, so that they will be available to the members to vote on in early '06. And plans for 2006 activites are in the works, all it takes is time to get it done. (Read a recent post on Red Key for more info)

(And Wild Bill, Don't beleive everything you hear on the streets of NYC! Often those who don't know anything, make up stuff, because they want others to think they are in the know! - Always go to the source for the real information!)
