SEG America, the independent Segway HT owners and enthusiasts group, is hosting three regional festivals this year. The events, open to everyone, will be held in Sacramento, CA (see below); New Hampshire (July); and Washington, D.C. (September).
Why not have one in the Midwest? There is one on the west coast and two on the east coast, what gives? Anyone have any ideas why we were left out.

Scotty,
As I understand it, SEG America held regionals according to two factors: first, major population centers for Segway HT owners (so that they were more "local"); second, where volunteers were vocal about holding a regional event.
Are you interested in helping organize an event in the mid-west next year? Please let Stan know right away -- you can e-mail him here through his profile.

Scotty,
The first fest was in Chicago. Texas and St Louis are good candidates for the future. Sacramento will be a test location of a spot off the beaten path. I, like most people, would prefer the fest to be in my home town.

Chris is correct, Scotty. We choose Sacramento and Washington DC because there were people there eager to organize an event. We chose Manachester, NH (Segway's backyard) because we thought it would be a fantastic place to have an event!
2006 is an open book ....
