I've used GPS since the early 90's, just can't get by without it.
I finally figured out a way of mounting one on the Segway using RAM mounts. It functions perfectly there, and it doesn't take up any real estate on the bars.http://www.uploadbucket.com/ims/pic.php?u=43JNI3R&i=104

Hi Wayne,

That looks great! What do you mainly use it for? spped miles travelled etc. It's nice minimal look.

cheers

The mount is made by RAM. They are a modular GPS/PDA/Laptop mounting system. You can combine any number of components
together, and effectively mount anything on anything. I got the necessary parts from GPS Central in Calgary (www.gpscentral.ca) for about $60. The GPS that I used is a mapping unit, a Garmin GPS V. I use it for speed, distance travelled, etc, but since it is a mapping and auto-routing unit, I use it a lot for finding addresses or points of interest in unfamiliar cities while R.V.ing.

You simply input the address, and the GPS provides you with turn by turn directions to your destination, whether it's a mile away, or 4000 miles away. This model is water resistant, and I get about 15 hours of use out of 4AA rechargeable batteries. I've had this one for a few years now, but you can get the same capabilities for a couple hundred dollars, and mount it just as easily.
