I just watched a segment on the Canadian science show "Daily Planet" discussing the Twheel with the lead engineer. They showed a Centaur running on it's rear twheels over a varied level surface, as well as an ibot coming down a set of stairs with twheels mounted. The engineer ( Bart something?? from Michelin) stated that the first application will be the ibot, the twheel "will be standard equipment on the ibot in 2005"
Direct quote from the designer...don't shoot the messenger, and catch the show if you get a chance. It should be on again later tonight

Chris,
As soon as I get home I'll try and record it. I gotta tell you, they look really neat; much more impressive to actually see them in motion than still photos. I thought it interesting that the engineer made the announcement as casually as he did, though.

Wayne,
So are you thinking we aren't going to get tweels on our HTs in 2005? Just the iBOTs?
If they're safe to use on the iBOT already, there's a good chance that they're ready for the HT as well.

You know, I've got to wonder if something else (i.e. Segway twheels) isn't in the works too. We know they have them, after all, and based on what was said by the engineer, it is the target application currently for them (he stated they were a couple of years away from high load applications like passenger cars).
I've got one of those new Toshiba laoptops with the media center edition and the built in t.v. tuner, the show repeats at 9:00 MTN, and I'll record it then, and hopefully figure out how to post it shortly thereafter.

If you need help getting it off your MediaCenter and into a file to share, I'm sure someone here or over at "the green button" forums can help. I think there's a program that will translate the ms-dvr type files into an .MPG or .WMV, etc.

P.S. Thanks to WM Recorder I was able to save the video stream on my hard-disk. I don't have space to store it somewhere, but if you want to have a copy of it, so that you can watch the video off-line, then just send me a mail.

Thanks Florin!
I recorded it last night, and haven't had time to finish converting it to WMA (Thanks SegwayCity for the websites for converting the MS-DVR to WMA) this saves me a bunch of aggravation

Your welcome,
Just for your information, I think you want to have it in WMV (windows media video) format, WMA (Windows media audio) is as far as I know only audio.
Kind regards,
Florin
