Don't let the mystique of a new model year deter you from your purchase. You'll be satisfied with any model you buy. You can always add your own accessories to make it uniquely yours, but I have to believe you'll be unique wherever you glide in Poland.
Good luck in your purchase!

The rumor is new models on Feb 5th.
There is also supposed to be new extended range batteries sometime in the future.

It might depend upon how much money you want to spend. The new models might very well be higher in price--especially if you want the longer range batteries. If you are able and willing to spend more, then it might be a good idea to wait for the new ones.
On the other hand, if you can't or don't want to spend that much money, then the current model is good, too. With either model you will be purchasing the unique Segway transportation experience, which, in itself, is worth quite a bit. As a current Segway owner, I can honestly say that I might very well have paid $1,000 more than I did for my Segway, just for this "experience" factor alone.
As for now, my wife and I plan to buy a second Segway, which will most likely be one of the new models. Though I might very well be envious of her new and "better" model, I will be upgrading my batteries, too, so we'll both be having a lot more gliding fun sometime soon in 2005.
