WIRED Magazine Photo: Seg Polo

There's a photo of the Bay Area SEG polo team in the new December issue of WIRED magazine. We were all hoping for a little more than one photo and a little blurb (especially since they didn't get a shot with our whole team in it). But I guess it's better than nothing.

Oh, one more thing...they call it "Scooter Polo".

We're playing again this Sunday if anyone on the West Coast wants to come out to join us!

Argh! How could they do that? Segway Polo has such a good ring to it! It seems like reporters are calling the Segway a "scooter" more and more... is it really too much work for them to write why it's not a scooter?

Just for the record, there are fewer letters in "Segway" than in "scooter".

GREAT MARKETING EFFORT FOR BayAreaSEG - Kudos for that - take note SEGAMERICA!

Glad to see that the WOZ wears a helmet - shows that he cares about what is up top - or maybe he is protecting his doo!

Also interesting that WIRED makes the comment "Let's hope Woz has a few 50,000 mile warranties and helmets to with them" when it mentions his 10 HT's considering the rash of Segway breakdowns as of late....

I'm glad that he wears a helmet too! I accidentally whacked him in the head with my mallet twice this past Sunday :)

We all wear helmets. George (shown in the pic without a helmet) usually wears one too. We did the photo shoot over our lunch hour during the work week. So I think he forgot to bring his that day.

Our group hasn't actively searched for publicity. It's all come to us! We're going to be on our local NBC news this Saturday night too. This afternoon another big national newspaper contacted me regarding polo. We're really just playing for fun... but I've taken the opportunity to try to reach local owners. So NBC is going to mention our web site to help find the other owners that we don't know about. We recently found 2 more early delivery winners who live in San Francisco!
