That's wonderful! And I remember reading some pretty negative comments a month or so ago as to whether LLC was supporting this endeavor or not. Three free segways! Wow!

Cool ... I'm delighted to hear that the LLC did a really nice thing for them. Sounds like they definitely got the reception and recognition they deserve. Congrats 10mph! It's all over but the shoutin'!

It's all over but the shoutin', and a WHOLE LOT of film editing. I guess their lifestyle will abruptly change from "out on the road" to "holed up in a small room editing film all day".
I am glad LLC is giving them some tangible recognition. Maybe their original seg, that made the trip across America, will become the symbolic representation for their company, Spining Blue. They could use a picture or drawing of it as part of their logo.

What 10mph accomplished was GREAT. It's just disappointing to the businesses that support the LLC cause with their heart and soul day in and day out NEVER even get a thank you from LLC...

Tell me how they are supporting this endeavor.

JohnM was kind enough to send me his photos from today's Bedford gathering, which I've forwarded over to the X-man ... who will host them and post them shortly. Looks like a nice little event, held outside in the parking lot of the LLC's building.

I hope everyone likes the custom fenders, my company Glide Customs did it with help from segway. The 10mph group is a great bunch and I wish them all the best!

It took a long time for the first car to make it across the continent, no one (but the engineers and the enthusiasts) expected the first Segway crossing to be so successful. Just because a company doesn't immediately sign on doesn't mean they can't support the trip in other ways. If LLC truly didn't support the 10mph crew, they'd not have held the party or given away the three segways (one with custom fenders).
I love my segway and LLC:) Three cheers for the 10mph crew too!!!

LLC's support followed the success. They probably would have distanced themselves if the journey failed after a short time. It takes courage to support a risky venture from the start and LLC did provide some batteries so I heard. The credit SOLELY belongs to the 10mph team. Congratulations 10mph!!!!!

Great pictures. We're really excited for the 10MPH team. The credit IS all theirs, no matter who supported or sponsored them. I'll bet the design team hasn't been prouder of their baby since its rollout.
Is the 10MPH team really returning to Seattle?
Seg - Way to Go!
Congrats to the whole team - they pulled it off on their own and probably got a whole lot smarter along the way. Great job, and something they'll remember for the rest of their lives - until, of course, they start on the next adventure!

I was there today. A large bunch of us waited at the Hampton Inn for the 10 MPH people to arrive from Boston via Nashua. When they did, there was clapping and cheering. We all mingled for a while. Then we all gathered and had a parade of 50-60 people riding Segways, with a police escort, down the streets of Bedford, NH for the 1.1 miles from the Hampton Inn to Segway HQ.
In the parking lot in front of Segway HQ, there were a few speeches from Segway people (Klee, Doug, Dean) and the 10 MPH crew. Segway LLC presented the three Segway HTs to the 10 MPH crew and then we all had cake and hot apple cider.

That's awesome ... thanks Stan, as I know you had a lot to do with this. And thanks to the LLC for stepping up to the plate and making it a great finish.

Wow, Matt, I LOVED the fenders <G>. Very appropriate! So were they on all the new Segways?

Brooster - Just to be clear, I did not have anything to do with the 10 MPH crew or the reception at Segway HQ. I was just an attendee who cheered them on, rode in the parade, attended the party, ate the cake and drank the warm apple cider.

Another good story from the Union Leader, the local NH paper we all watched for Segway news in the early days.

I imagine the 10mph guys are enjoying a day of relaxation, savoring their victory.
It's been great fun following along on the www.10mph.com Web site ... it's almost sad--in a way--to see it come to an end. I do hope we'll see a few more updates to the site, with photos, thoughts and recollections, and maybe a few posts from their trip back home. I'm sure there are people who would love the opportunity to meet and congratulate the team on their way back west. I guess their trip really isn't over yet. They have a long drive ahead of them. :)
