Hey Everyone,

I see people chatting about meeting up for a glide. I know what you mean when you say that term but what do you do?

Do you go slowly? or fast? Do you chat along the way? Do you stop and have something to eat drink? etc etc

Just be interested to see what different people do.

When we meet up for a glide we get together and pick a place to ride our Segways to.

Sometimes in NYC we'll meet in a restaurant, talk over Segway issues and then ride (or glide) to an interesting location.

In California, they do the same. Smetimes they get together for Segway Polo.

You can meet up with just one other person or a group, it really doesn't matter. The purpose is just to have another person (or persons) you can Segway with.

Philby, we do all of those things. There are no rules. We get together and talk about anything and everything. We ride together from one place to another or just around and back to where we started. We talk and goof around along the way. We go slow and we go fast. We talk to other interesed people along the way. We give demo rides.

DCSEG posts a meeting place on our yahoo chat site then meets there (usurally by the elevator at a METRO (subway) stop.) From there either one of our members leads the tour - or we choose a location as our goal and work our way to it, with various members leading. Talking and catching up with each other while gliding is always a constant! I would say we go slower rather than faster - never really had a race or anything.

We stop if folks are hungry or the machines need some juice. We have stopped at coffee shops, members homes, eateries, pretty much anywhere!

Just like getting a bunch of friends together to go bike riding or anything else. Always new folks come and friendships are instantly developed, due to the common interest of the Segway.
