As per jawillis's conversation with Doug Field at Purdue...

quote:He smiled from ear to ear when I asked him about upcoming products from Segway. He didn’t talk for a while, thinking very carefully of what he could tell me (seeing as how many Segway lovers would hear about my conversation with him). All he could tell me, is that new products and technologies would be emerging in the next coming years. He said next year, everyone will be excited with what they are bringing to the Segway lineup. In two years, everyone will be completely and utterly amazed.

I would like to guess on what will be new in 2005.

I read in other posts awhile back that they will be adding more color to the HT's. Another will be the new batteries.

I would like to guess that they will also be offering perhaps some suspension in the way of springs or shocks. Mainly because with the pictures of the Centaur, they are at least trying to implement them in one way or another. Perhaps they are also thinking about seating as also shown on the Centaur.

What intrigues me is that we will be bringing to the new line-up. Which I think they are referring to a new model. And the second year were we will be completely and utterly amazed. What do you think this means?

I am also entrigued by what "the new technology" will be too.

"Wouldn't it be cool, if?...is like Folgers in my cup"

Was talking with a dealer this afternoon who has seen the new tires & offroad machine -- Said it is 12" wider due to the ATV style tires with fenders to match! Hmmm, wonder where they got this idea from? <G>

I don't know what Segway has in store, but when I was talking to Doug about it... he just kept smiling. He said not only new products, but also new technologies are on the slate for the next two years. I was so close... yet so far away...

Sounds like you need to come up with a set of dualie wheels for the HT Zorba! Extra wide studded tires for extreme terrain! It would look like a mini snow cat:)

L7,

Why don't you just post the URL, since you seem to know the sequence of keystrokes?
