Dean "wrote" an article for an ad in PS

I was thumbing thorough Popular Mechanics yesterday, and discovered that Dean had wrote an article to be put into an ad for i think Ford. I will try to scan the article in and post it.

He mostly talks about FIRST, and doesnt mention the segway, but talks about the wheelchair, the purifier, and other "community" projects.

I'll scan it in and post it.

Nice article! I'm a little surprised he didn't mention the Segway at all, though... hmmm. I'm sure he wrote the article -- the passion sounded like his.

I dont know.... i think he was trying to get at all of the "world saving" things he was working on. He doesnt want it to seem like he gets rich off of rich people buying Segways.

What has he been up to lately? It seems he has cut all official ties to LLC, but of course he still owns it.... right?
What has DEKA been up to lately?
From reading Code Named Ginger, I know that DEKA has to be doing something new and provocative....

I know there for a while Dean was putting a lot of emphasis on trying to create a practicl stirling engine. Maybe DEKA is turning most of their inventing power to that...

There is a similar ad and article by Dean in Popular Science this month.

DEKA and Segway are two different companies. DEKA did the early development on the Segway and then spun off the Segway LLC company to do the production, marketing and research for the Segway brand.

Dean is still VERY much involved in the Segway company. The purpose of the article (at least in Popular Science) was to talk about FIRST - the accomplishment Dean is most proud of.

Dean has many projects going on at the same time - both at Segway and at DEKA.
