Hello group.
I have met with the head of protective services and the accessibility officer at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. They are both very interested in better understanding Segway in an effort to approve it for use in the museums, at least by those with accessibility issues.
To that end they have asked me if I can get them a contact at Segway LLC for the following:
"The Office of Protection Services hosts a Conference every year for Cultural Property Protection with attendees from not only around the country but also Europe. This year's conference is scheduled for February 20-23, 2005 and is being held in Las Vegas. I talked to our Board about a session on Segway's and at first some folks said no and then we realized we had talked about the subject for 20 minutes. At this point we thought maybe it would be a good discussion. I was thinking maybe a rep from Segway who would bring one with them, a lawyer about legal issues and then a few people from the museum security field who are against them. This would really give great exposure for Segway and maybe they could get a feel for what museums from around the world are thinking. Is there anyone I could contact at Segway that may be interested, or not, in this presentation?"
I would like to direct him to a specific individual at Segway rather than just a generic number. Can someone help me out??
Thank you
Tim (please feel free to email me directly--DCSegway@gmail.com)
