If Segway actually pursues making the Centaur a commercial product, this would be a GREAT way to go after the recreation market while still presenting the original Segway as a real transportation solution that just happens to also be fun. From watching the video, it looks like it would be a blast to ride.

It also looks like "non-extreme" types people could do some extreme types of things on it safely. People who would never, or could never, learn to pop a wheelie on motorcycles, etc., could do so on the Centaur.

Bob, I doubt very much that development on better batteries has been halted in favor of the Centaur. In fact, I would bet that the Centaur is a perfect application for higher capacity batteries and actually helped to propel the development of the new batteries.
