Trying to be a smart shopper and getting the most bang for the almighty US $$$, I have called a number of Segway Dealers (maybe half?). I mentioned that I wanted to by 1,2 or 3 I Series Segways for family members.This is what I found out.
The 1st dealer gave me a discount of 7%. I didn't even ask for it! The dealer was out of state and I could save on taxes. Free shipping!
For the fun of it I called another dealer and got 7% off list, I was willing to give the dealer name. He would sell to me 10% off and I could save 50% off of shipping.
I was on a roll, I kept calling. I found most dealers will give 10% off if you are aggresive. There were 5 dealers that would not bend.
4 dealers! offered 15 to 18% off. I would have to arrange my own shipping.
Yesterday I drove and picked up 3 new units! 18% off of list!This dealer has been selling off his 50 units. He mentioned that this was
his first order with Segway and things are going slow.
I'm not here to say all dealers will give a discount. This is what I did. Do your homework, get the deal. I don't think this is good for the Segway Community but it is a fact and should be told.
I currently own a Segway, my wife and I went out last night and rode together for the 1st time. What a great time! 2 untis will be shipped to the UK for a early Christmas!
