I play around with the two-person glide a lot. I try it two ways. i have each person put one foot on one side of the platform. or i have one stand behind the other.

Mr Laurenzano's thread title says it all for me. I have gone about 10 days without needing to use my car, these stretches have happened quite often, a dozen times or so, in fact... It's great to see that my $20K investment is sitting there, gathering dust! LOL
But it's nice to know it's available when necessary.

Q. How long have you used your segway verses your car?
A. About 350 days. In a few weeks, I'll have gone an entire year using a Segway HT as my main form of transportation -- winter, spring, summer, fall. :)

Good on ya Mate! I've been without a car since....well, I've never owned a car. But I'm hoping to get a Segway by year's end so I can give my shoes a rest, does that count?

I did not buy my seg to replace my car. I bought it to augment it.
I am involved in town government. I average 2 or 3 trips to the Town Hall per week. I have only driven my car there 2 times in the last 9 months. (Thru Boston Winter...)
I also take the segway with me to the mechanic, that way while they take time after time to try to figure out how my Pontiac works (And fix it) I can seg to work.
I also use it for errands around town. I do most all errands with it, that it can handle.
For load...
I have an "e" and have had a FULL shopping cart of groceries on and in it. That included 4 gallons of milk and juice, several pounds of can goods, 2 dozen eggs, cereals, loaves of bread, and the like. I looked like a spaceage beverly hillbilly with all those bags hanging off the unit, but it ran flawlessly.
I have had 2 people on several times. I also have had my son and daughter on several times with me. For the kids, I simply have them stand on my toes.
