There has been a lot of concern here about the new House Bill passed last night in Massachusetts. The bill, in its early form, included pedestrian-friendly balancing devices like the Segway HT in its overly-broad definition of "motorized scooter" -- likley an innocent mistake, by lawmakers seeking to increase safety to their consituents.

To the best of our knowledge, the Boston Globe and Associated Press articles this morning were incorrect. In fact, the bill that was passed last night was for tandem-wheeled scooters, not nontandem-wheeled Segway HTs.
We appreciate the online community's continued support in helping others to understand the uniqueness of the Segway HT and its pedestrian-friendly qualities.

I'm sure more information will be forthcoming. I'd love to see the new law as signed by Gov. Romney.
