I rode my Segway home for lunch today, and found that my wife had taped a surprise onto the regrigerator door for me. It was an article about the upcoming Lemony Snicket movie, with an almost full page color picture of Jim Carrey riding a Segway.
Jim plays an eccentricly evil character in the movie, but it looks like this should be a fun movie to watch. Hopefully that will translate to a fun context for the Segway to be seen in.
The article is in Entertainment Weekly, which I didn't even know my wife reads. The online version of the article has a different picture without the Segway. The print article shows a picture of Carrey's wicked Count Olaf character riding an E series Segway on a country road.

Owning an E myself, I understand why they appeal to evil characters...
Of course, I also understand why they appeal to wholesome characters as well.

Each road you travel should be just a bit better for having had you pass.

Fear not, for even though I come from the Forbidden City, I surely do not agree with the rules.

When I went searching for this old thread, I didn't realize how old it was.
My family went to see the Lemony Snicket movie yesterday. The movie was OK, but we were disappointed that the segway didn't make the final cut and was nowhere to be found in the movie. I am not sure how well it would have fit in anyway.

I believe the photo was just a "publicity shot" of Jim on his own Segway HT.

Chris is right, it is Carey's own Segway, and there were a series of photos, along with video of him riding it during an
interview with A&E (if memory serves) shot during production. A&E Biography was the show, and it ran originally a couple of months ago. There were several postings on the board about it then

On 60 minutes, too.
They said he enjoyed terrorizing workers on the set by riding aggressively.

I haven't read the book(s), only saw the movie. It had SOME redeeming qualities, but on the whole, I didn't like it.

I like the books, so I might like the movie. I kind of like the old melodrama format.
