What are some of the places in your neighborhood where you are allowed to ride? What stores let you in, what stores don't? Have you ever had any trouble with someone over acess? Post away!
Here in Indy, I ride almost everywhere. I have gone into CVS, the bank (lobby for the ATM), the post office, the park, into the IMAX theahter (with IndyFirstEngineer, but we did get some flack for that from the staff there, but in the end we were allowed to walk them in there), I take it to work (I prefer to walk it in the hallways to my cube though).
I haven't tried the mall because I was told Simon Malls don't allow Segways or (ugh!) scooters in there (unless the operator is disabled.)
The only difference between Indy and NY, was that in NY I didn't really get much flack for going into the mall.
One place that this forum has, I believe, reached a concensus on NOT taking the Segway inside is the Library, and maybe places of worship.

I have a post over on Draft but the Del Amo mall in LA won't allow Segways, YET!! They are Mills Corp. owned. Being disabled I'm allowed almost anywhere, I say that because I have been everywhere. I'm planning to go to the mall as much as I can and send e-mails or talk to the management with info of glides I've done in their mall. I'm hoping that after they see I'm no problem with other patrons they will loosen up and allow more Segways. Doesn't hurt to keep trying!
