I'm thinking of compiling a humorous book called "101 Ways to Save $ With a Segway." Well, some of the methods could be serious, and other methods to save money could be completely off-beat & funny. Feel free to post what you use your Segway for, how much $ or aggrevation you might have saved, and/or any ideas you might have.

I'll start:

$100 on hiring movers
Story-I needed help moving into my 4th floor apartment in Boston. Therefore, I rode around on the Segway... found some college boys who were pointing at it and asked "hey boys! I'll give you a ride on the Segway if you help me move in, interested?" :-)

Lets just say that a station wagon full of stuff was moved into my room in 10 minutes. Haha.

What's another way to save time, $, or aggrevation? Please post a response, Thanks!

I'll give you one.

I was riding past a CVS that was next to my local supermarket. I had gotten a few gallons of milk.

There was a man washing windows at the drug store as I rode in, and we had a nice conversation, while I was gliding and he was working.

I rode to the market, bought my milk, and on the way back, he was still cleaning the windows. (Squeegy and long pole stuff...)

I realized that I hadn't offered him a demo on the way in, so I did on the way out. He didn't, but we stopped his work and we spoke for about 30 seconds.

He got a look from his manager through the window, and said that he had to go back to work. I guess it was in fear of his job, but man was he going fast now!

His productivity increased by a factor of at least 2 maybe 3 just because he stopped to talk to me for 1/2 minute.

I guess the money saved was that of the store owner. Nevermind...

That is hilarious! Why don't you have someone just push the Segway from behind so you can save on batteries!

Just think of the money you'll save on shoes and clothing! I walk everywhere (legally blind,) and I go through shoes and pants like you can't imagine. I bet that using a Segway would reduce the wear on shoes and pants considerably. I recently took a pair of Chaco hiking sandals in to a local store for examination, and they told me they had never seen a pair worn down that much. Those sandlas are not cheap!

I bet a conservative guess on savings in replaced clothing would equal $200 annually.

Don't laugh at my shoes, they're really a Segway.

How about the cost of metal health care you could save due to the pleasure center stimulus from gliding on you segway. Maybe your insurance should cover the cost of your p model.

As far as saving batteries...

I have walked my dogs with the segway. That might not seem particularly significant, but you don't know my dogs.

The small one is a Great Dane, German Shepard mix, looks like a Rhodesian Ridgeback and weighs about 120 pounds.

The other is a pure Rottweiller, Female, but about 130 pounds. She has the power of a Kleidsdale.

I have walked them in excess of 3 miles and had no indication of any battery consumption. Segway was just balancing, all propulsion was externally provided.
