Paris might ban SUVs!!! More Segways??

I haven't been to Paris, but I will say that the streets in London are really to narrow for heavy SUV traffic. Boy, if there is a place where HTs really would be good, it would be London. They just don;t have any room to expand the streets wider.

I'm not excited about this at all. Paris could just as easily ban Segways next, we've all heard the arguments (in San Francisco and elsewhere) that Segways and pedestrians can't share a sidewalk.

Lasting change will come when people adapt to new forms of transportation becasuse they see a direct benefit for themselves. Government fiats about what type of car people should or should not drive only serve to restrict individual choice and require people to drive what the government thinks they should.
