I have had a Segway i Series for two years now and I sell promotional products for a living. One of my clients asked to rent my Segway for a futuristic event coming up on May 20. They want to have two Segways at the event. I will be personally training and providing my Segway for the event. I am looking for one more Segway to rent for the event. This would be for five hours. Approx. 4 pm to 9 pm on Thursday May 20th, 2004. The fee will be $200.00 and I will personally pick-up and return the Segway the same day. The event is in Irvine, California, so I am looking for someone in the Orange County Area. Please email or call me for questions and more details. Call or email Greg, @949-574-2323 or gbrown@mac.com. Thanks everyone.

The area manager put Greg in touch with Dick last week. We wanted more information about exactly what he was going to do with the Segways, and he was to come to the Open House but didn't show. We're not nuts about the idea of loaning one out. Where our Segways go, we go!
While we're at it, this is the second time recently when someone's mentioned having a Segway for two years. They just came out to the public in March 2003. Were there that many being beta tested or something a whole year sooner? I'm thinking of a recent post where someone mentioned a 2002 model. I'm confused!

HTs were released for public sale and consumer purchase a year ago, but many were placed in the hands of companies, individuals and government agencies for testing and such beginning two years ago. I don't recall ever seeing a number published of how many were put into service back then. Those who did receive them two years ago were prohibited from selling or transferring them.
I have seen someone on Ebay renting them out for about 40 per hour in the CA area. here is the link to his auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=294&item=3095087531&rd=1
It states for "Northern CA only"
Hope this helps,.....
P.S. Credit Card Hold of $4,950 per vehicle and liability release required.
