So what do you all think of the Segway survey?

Just completed mine... Received it this afternoon via email.

I think the questions are telling. LLC is trying to find out what direction to take in improving their machine.

Cool!

I just did mine. I hope everyone will tell them that the batteries need to have more range and that they need BETTER software for the future.
Also tell them to get out of the office sometimes and meet some of the owners so they can have a hands-on experience of whats good and bad about the Seg.

Just fnished mine, too.
i think that LLC reads this and takes this into account, right along with surveys because we arent a full sampling, we have relatively the same views, and not all of us are owners. i think that they also want to ask direct questions, not just read our complaning

it has a nice ring to it

A human has 60,000 miles of blood vessels in their body.
Alaska was bought from Russia for about 2 cents an acre
A quarter has 119 grooves on its edge; a dime has one less groove

Did anyone NOT get a survey? I didn't get one.

Why send a survey? All they have to do is pay attention to this board,

We are some of the biggest enthusiasts, and critics, of the HT, for sure. The survey also covered a lot, succinctly, about how the HT is used, why we bought it, what our values are in regards to quality of sales people and customer service experience, etc. -- information that we don't exactly present in a "statistical format" here, or don't talk about much at all.

Also, they can get feedback from thousands of their customers outside of the SegwayChat community as well, which is a good thing. I assume that they have the same general experience we have. But assumptions can be dangerous things sometimes too.

Anyway, it's just great to see them analyzing things and trying to improve their already amazing products.

Hey, not to worry. I own two machines and am helping to put on the national Segway Users conference and I didn't get one either.

Oh well.
Anyone want my opinions?

It almost seemed like only 30 got it. Becuase at the end, there was a drawng for 1 in 30, you can win a 12.0 bag.

Folks, this survey wasn't sent to everyone and it wasn't meant to be sent to everyone. We had a specific survey population in mind, hence if you didn't get one, that doesn't mean anything. And we have 30 bags to give away, so a lot more than 30 got the survey.

Market research such as this provides objective numbers on specific measures. While we appreciate the subjective information we gain from SC, we still need to obtain other/additional data to supplement such information.

1 in 30 odds, and 30 bags to give away.. I'm guessing 900 favored owners got surveys? :)

so llc sent it to a specific group of people only

with the limited amount of sales, you would think they would send it to everyone who purchased - but what do I know

SUrvey was for those who have purchased in the last 6 months. Some of us got it accidently - although, I would guess they might consider September of last year in the last 6 months <G>.

I'm just copying what John said again here. He didn't mention anything about "last 6 months of customers" or anything else, other than "specific survey population."

Anyway, I was glad to get the survey and have a chance to give some feedback. I'm sure that everyone here is welcome to e-mail their feedback to Segway LLC directly regardless. I'm sure that the marketing department is really curious about what all Segway HT owners want in their next machine (or as an upgrade for their current machine), etc.
