Jim, Matt: Can you give us some more information about these things:
Lunch Box Rides - $12.50/person
Scavenger Hunt / Picture Rally - $15/person (lunch included)
Kayak/Canoe Trip - $90/person
Sanibel/Captival Coach Trip w/ Segways - $75/person
Island Boat Trip w/ Segways - TBD
And do I need to register for them now or can I register for the Fest now and then sign up for these things later as more information is presented? I assume yes because the discount for early signup for these events is 8/1.

Stan,
The lunch box rides will take you to a scenic area of the 500 acres the venue has and will incorporate a specific topic or speaker of interest for each outing. The idea is to have a gliding activity and a topic of interest that will allow you to use your machine, eat lunch, and have fun with your fellow enthusiasts.
You can, of course, sign up at any time for these activities but space will be limited and the closer to convention time the less your chances are of being included. As we finalize the speaker slots we will post the exact itinerary and topics. I would suggest that once we announce you should consider signing-up.
We have just come back from scouting all of the paths on property and visiting some of the surrounding islands. One in particular, "Lover's Key State Park", is an idyllic destination for a seaside and nature glide. We have requested permission from the State Park Authority to conduct one of our glides there and are awaiting the outcome. The folks at the Hyatt have been very helpful and we think you will just be delighted with the amentities and the sights to be had here.
The scavenger hunt is already scheduled and arranged. This, I can assure you, is an event that you won't want to miss. The idea is that we will form teams to compete with one another. On the Hyatt property there are many sights to be discovered and what we will do is have teams, timed, and sent in different directions to discover and photograph certain features of the property that we will only reveal at competition time. Once the first feature is discovered your team will be directed to the next sight with clues you will have to decipher. If your team is successful you will return to the finish line with the best time and with all of the photos in hand.
This will require that each team register a cell phone (in case you get lost or need a clue) and a digital, or Poloroid camera, (only one needed for each team) to capture the images as proof of discovery.
We expect this activity to take up the entire afternoon and be quite entertaining. It will culminate in a cocktail party that is the prelude to the Gala Buffet. There will be plenty of opportunity to glide all over the property and have some adventures that I cannot reveal until it's time to compete. Suffice it to say that this will be a blast!!!
The Kayak/Canoe Trips are for those individuals who are dying to try something different that is not HT related. This is a standard on property option that many like to do.
The Sanibel/Captiva, and other island trips, are designed to offer yet another venue to visit on your HT along with all of your fellow attendees. These areas are world class vacation locations and are literally at our doorstep. We have reserved these activities for Sunday so that we can just relax and enjoy the environment. We will have to have a minimum number of people signed up to make this a viable trip...ultimately it is your choice...the more attendees that want to participate the better.[^]:D[8)]:);)[:P]
