I found an ad for PepBoys in the Sunday Paper and the Q is now available for $ 799 - Reduced from $999
It says "We purchased 25 truckloads and we are passing the savings on to you " and all the other usual marketing hype.
Does it seem like " they can't dump the junk " ?

When they get it down to $100 I'll buy it for the novelty.

Bruce, I don't think "novelty" is the right term... perhaps you'd buy it to show people what not to get? ;)

I just hope the Q doesn't give the Segway a bad name.

I may stop by a Pep Boys store tomorrow. I'd like to see a "Q". In a way, I'd like someone in my area to buy one. I'd like to glide with someone--even if it's a Q. After a year, I'm still the only person in my part of VA who has an HT. I know how the Maytag man feels.

The Q is still nothing more than an expensive TOY with NO more technology than a simple scooter. The sooner people figure this out, the sooner they may go away...

I called both Pep Boys stores in my area about a month ago and neither of them had ever heard of a Q...

I was out on a glide yesterday and a man asked me:

"Is that the real deal, or is it one of those Pep-Boys jobs?"

I gladly told him that this was the Real McCoy! He didn't realize that the Q had 4 wheels and was easy to fall off of!

Heheh.

I went to a Pep Boys store in Newport News, VA today and was able to see and touch a "Q". For $799, I was impressed. It had a built-in headlight, a speedometer and a volt meter. These things we should have on the Segway. I didn't ride it; but I was still impressed. Of course, it doesn't balance on two wheels. I'd like to see how it rides. The two larger wheels on the Q were about the size of the "P" series wheels.

Hello.

In the my local Sunday paper this week, there was an ad insert for Pep Boys. So naturally I looked to see if the Q was included in the pamphlet. It was the first time that I have seen it advertised. The Q was strategically placed on the left hand side of the page entering to the right and all you could see were the two big wheels. The back wheels were not shown because they were off the page. It really made it look like a Segway with only 2 wheels. Then of course it mentions that it costs only $999 compared to similar product priced at $4500. I assume this was intentionally placed on the page like this. Very clever.

No wonder that guy thought the Pep Boys number had only 2 wheels. This is the photo from the circular. I imagine that on newsstock those little back wheels wouldn't show up at all.

That side-view image cleverly isn't shown in the circular.

Well, this'll get em into pep-boys!

Bruce

The image in the Pep Boys circular that I saw was actually a side-view. The the way it was placed on the page, however, the back wheels were cut off by the edge of the page. I'm sure it was not by accident. Sorry I cannot post the picture, but I think you get the idea.
