Hello all,

Question . How is the dark gray plastic peice on the hand held on? I'm starting to scrape the heck out of it when it's in the back of the jeep.

Anyone have any ideas?

Matthew

Do you mean the trim on the front of the CS or the twisty hand grip?

I think you're talking about the piece that is molded on the control shaft handlebar. That piece doesn't come off...

If your talking about the long boomarang looking piece that protects the front area of the handle bars, it's held on by 10 small molded pieces that click into recesses built into the handle bar itself.
Take a small flat object and slip it into the bottom area and give it a little pry to cause one of the clips to release itself from the bars. Work yourself around to one side and once there are several un done, it will get easier and easier.
Sometimes the little clips will break off.
You can get a new one from LLC. I believe it goes for less than 15 dollars or so, but don't quote me.

If you had the 12.0 bag on front of the handlebar it would never get scraped and scratched. It would also save damage to the machine should it ever fall forward when someone just lets it go.

Maybe he means the front trim-piece on the handlebar itself? The front two 'points' on that thing get scrubbed a lot, but it does come off and replacements aren't expensive ($18?).

snakeman? Spell it out, man.

With a 12.0 bag none of those spots will make contact with a wall or the ground.

Sorry for the confusion it's the dark gray long boomarang that hits the ground when you lay the Seg down flat.

The bag does make a good cushion but I'd personally rather scuff the $15 replaceable trim piece than the $100 bag. Maybe someone can come up with a way to attach a bumper of some sort to the top front edge of the bag.

The bag also makes it harder to lean up against a wall. It's front-heavy enough to slither down the wall and splat while you're not looking.

The problem with the kickstand is that it's too subtle and inviting to kids.

I'm thinking a RED BAR that goes across the footpad, maybe from fenderhole to fenderhole, that might make someone think that they shouldn't be stepping up.

Snakeman - I like secure my Seg in transit so it doesn't roll around or bang on anything. In some cases I use bungi cords and a piece of foam rubber to lay the handlebars on to keep from scuffing them up.
