My daughter has a disability and can only stand for short time spans...has anyone adapted a seat to the Segway?

Thank you in advance

I remember seeing a seat on Wayne's site: www.kcaps.com.

I also recall seeing a picture of a gentleman on a seat on a Segway on www.draft.cc

I don't know if anyone is modifying them commercially though.

I have a friend with a seat made from plywood box and a foam cushion. It works great! I tried it.
I think a nice seat adapted from a riding lawnmwower or tractor could be bolted to the attachment points.
Remember the sensors under the mat need to be depressed or better yet, find a Segway with 10.0 software.
A member from the DRAFT organization may have more info on this.

I made a bench to glide seated in my Segway, it works very well. The only trick is that the front legs of the bench pushes both front sensors of the Segway and that the bench is light enough to not to keep depressing the sensors when you stand up.

You can see pictures of my bench in this site (http://albums.photo.epson.com/j/ViewPhoto?u=4166438&a=30971461&p=65829291).

Thank you all for your suggestions....I am looking for a solution that could be mounted to the center column and then Melanie can swing it around behind her once she is on the Seg. She can hop on the Seg using her arm cruches and ride it with no problem...she just needs a seat she can handle easily and she it set to ride for hours! What a great machine!!!

Leonard Tims is on the group, and he has a Segway that he sits on. Check the search feature - he's in Florida.
