It was a year ago today that the Segway HT arrived. http://homepage.mac.com/mzokc/segway/PhotoAlbum42.html What a year it has been gliding every day and entering each day’s adventure on the Segway Chat blog site.

FORGET that it says "photos." IT'S (mostly) ALL TEXT!! One year's worth of daily entries.
I will continue the daily blog for several days until the anniversary of the first full charge glide. This was discussed in another thread. http://www.segwaychat.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6523 It was a challenge to plan ahead to make the daily entries, but it did keep me busy climbing on the HT and getting the most value for the money.
Thinking about the past year, here are a few thoughts:
1. The Segway HT has performed beyond expectations. The safety has been exceptional, with only one fall due to a wheel slipping on wet grass. The HT stayed upright, but I was holding on with one hand going up the hill and fell off as it suddenly turned. No damage to HT or me.
2. Nothing has generated more conversation or fun. Over 750 have enjoyed getting a demo and countless folks have asked questions. As a former Disneyland ride operator, this is like owning your own theme park attraction.
3. Enjoying your company on Segway Chat and at Segway Fest has been a great experience. I have appreciated your advice and friendship. So many places in the USA to glide, I would love to have traveled more!
4. About savings, well maybe if I’d use it to get to work, but that is too far. So travel to eating and entertainment (with some health club glides) made up the majority of glides. That resulted in a few pounds and a slimmer wallet, but what a way to travel!
5. The future has just begun. HDTV, Satellite Radio, iChat AV, Segway HT. These were dreams just a few years ago. Now they give improved quality to life. Clearer TV, clearer auto sound, video conferencing for the home, and the most advanced personal transit is now a part of daily life. Isn’t technology wonderful?
Well, I could go on but it’s time to get on the HT and glide for some donuts!
