View Full Version : Glowing Fenders
After some of the dust settled after the Mardi-Glide, I finally got around to snapping some photos.
I'll have a parts list and some close up photos on the site. The shots have been taken, I just need to get them on some web pages.
It's late right now, so I'll just give you a teaser video. :)
The video is in Windows Media format (.wmv) and for broadband. If you have trouble, try saving it to your desktop first.

Mike,
Great Video! Just wondering if the white color light-tape is brighter than any of the other colors... I love color you have, but, I'm just more bland a guy! LOL
I am looking forward to the kit list which we spoke about.

How much was the tape - their website doesn't have pricing information.

I can't wait to see what that looks like in action!

They have a starter kit that comes with a step-down (to 12V) and a step-up (280V 650Hz) transformers. I cut the step-down off and connected a 12V "POP Power" battery pack to the step-up transformer. I used a cigarette lighter attachement with variable voltage output to control the brightness. I think I may have zapped the tape though. There weren't any technical specs in the box. (uh, like minimum/max length on one transformer.) I used 12" strips on the inside and 2AQa on the outside. Pictures very soon folks. :)

Mike, the light tape looks great! Thanks for the video images, it's hard to imagine how bright it is without photos.
Looks like safety would be greatly increased with the light tape at night.

I must add, if Mike hasn't done so, Light tape is NOT a replacement for a headlight. It is to illuminate yourself, it is bright but not bright enough to be able to guide you well in the dark.

Thanks Sal,
I failed to mention that, great point.
The best way I think to light the HT up for front and side visibility is to illuminate the control shaft. I'll get a video of that too on the site soon. (I have a BUNCH of other things going on at the moment. [;)]
