[u]Anything discussed in this thread should not be done on sidewalks or streets, only on private property with the owners permission.
A helmet should be worn, the surface should be checked for traction and loose objects. Avoid carpeted surfaces, with the higher G loading and traction the carpet can be torn! There should be crowd control so people do not enter your performance area. Inspect your machine, tire pressures and secure fasteners. If there are other thoughts on safety please post them. </u>

This thread is for people who are using there Segways artistically.
At my training at Bedford we were asked how we would use our machines my one word answer was “Dance”
With the limited space of NYC I don’t get to practice as much as I would like! For the rest of the winter SegwayNYNY will be renting a dance studio every Sunday afternoon. One of our goals is to develop an audition video to submit to Macy’s to be considered for this year Thanksgiving Day Parade. Right now it seams like an insurmountable task. There must be others out there who are using there machines artistically. Peter Gabriel and his daughter are performing on theirs during his concerts. There are others out there, lets get together and create some beautiful art!

Dancin Segways, ibots, [u]First</u> bots and Rollerskaters it's all good ;)
Macy's doesn't allow corporation to advertise in the parade,so we are on our own. This will be a good venue to get [u]First</u> some good publicity.

We were delighted to see the artistic dance performances at SegwayFest! 2003 from Kelsey and the Krogmans. They were ground breakers for Segway Public Performances! It had been leaked to us pre-Fest that there had been a seminal Segway Dance Performance Team and we made every attempt to have them at the Fest but several of the members could not make our dates. We are delighted to hear of new inroads in this area and hope that those of you who are interested will keep this years Fest in mind for a performance. You will have plenty of time to practice. Rock-on![^]:D;)[:P][:O]

SegwayBill this is Tony. The crash master in california. I have a list of songs that I listen to befor I seg. I dance alone to them then when the feelings right I book it down the street. Corigraphing segway dances is pretty easy. Just take a couple of different colors of chalk and draw the lines. Good songs
Revolution - The Bettles
Roll me away- Bob Seger
Sign me up for that dance team.
I can play my guitar and go back and forth ~~~ if I only had a foot control ~~~~

What a cool idea!

Are these standard Segways, or have you attached mirror balls and laser lights?

The plans for this Sundays event are looking good.
There will be more skaters then ever.
We still need someone with a digital movie camera.

Is it just me ? I didnt really like the dance segment at SegFest. Kind of made me think what it would be like to dance with a new vacuum cleaner, pool cleaner, microwave oven or some other utility. The HT is a transportation tool for me....certainly not a dance partner. Does the Toro Company have dances with their riding mowers? Does anyone ?? Fun is fun, but the Segway dancing looked downright silly to me.

I think it would be realy fun. If some cool little dance moves were created it could be great. Maybe switch segways, sorry, partners mid dance?
