In trying to get the Washington DC area folks organized better, I was wondering how is it going elsewhere.

I know that NYC seems to be gathering regularly.

Any folks put pen to paper and draw up offical papers yet?

The Bay Area SEG kinda put itself together. We had our first meeting shortly after Segway Fest, which is what brought the group together, I think. Since then we've had a couple of meetings.

My dad and I were talking about the age demographic we saw at SegFest and the local SEG's age demographic. We think it might be one of the "youngest" around. Most of the crew are less than or equal to 35. Segway Fest showed that a lot of Seggers are 50 or older.

Fear not, for even though I come from the Forbidden City, I surely do not agree with the rules.

Just a random comment, but isn't "SEG groups" reduntant? (Segway Enthusiast Group groups)

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Well,

I live in WV and I don't have a seg. To the best of my knowledge there is only one seg in the state, so no WVSEG in the near future.

However, i have to say, in a place like charleston (where I'm at) it would only take one to generate a lot of interest. Who knows, if I get one some day before I find a job out of state I may start the first WVSEG.

It is important to get together at least once a month. SegwayNYNY meets every month on the 4th. This month we are indoors on the 8th. It is good to have an agenda. We are working on skills and moves for an audition tape for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Most of the time we just play. It is best to meet at a place where you can glide.

It is so important that we as Segway Owners work together (and not worry about the little stuff) to build a better understanding of this new transportation technology.

Please keep posting about how SEG (groups) are progressing - it is very important that they do!

As Neelix says our BayAreaSeg got off to a pretty good start, but we're sort of taking a winter break. Even though it's Seggable at 50F and cloudy, It's more fun to get together when it's fair. (I know-- Californians are wimps compared to you hale and hearty out east! ;) We're still hoping for a (legal) glide over the Golden Gate come springtime.

in many areas, like south florida, it is tough to find enough for a "group"

This evening two Segway owners got together for a drink downtown, and planned for DC SEG!

Thanks for everyone's input and support.

One of the things we talked about was a trip to a NYC SEG meeting! To see how it is done!

We're doing pretty well here in St. Louis. (The very first SEG, we're celebrating our second year Feb. 22, with Mardi-Glide!) We're a small group of 14 or so. Most of us talk many times weekly. We're planning many events. While I was at the Mardi-Gras Krewe meeting, I was approached by the Shriners and some head honcho from the Irish Parade. Many of us are planning to go to all three.

Neelix, I linked to your site. Looking good man! Hopefully you'll get some more hits!

be keen, keep clean, glide green.

Hello SC. I enjoy reading all your chats on various topics. I live in Central PA and have had my HT for a little over a month. Unfortunately the past month has had a lot of snow and I am getting stir crazy to ride more than I have. I have given about 40 test rides so far with lots of praises from the riders.

Are there any other Segways in Central PA? Would like to find a fellow glider.

Thanks.

Mark
