NYC Segway dance 01/04/04

Our next monthly meeting will be held indoors at a Dance studio. We will have music and fun. Check the events for details. There will be at least 6 machines some rollerskaters and a chance to try new dance moves.

You guys have a great idea there, it's raining so much here in NoCal, we need to find an indoor venue for our next group glide, did you have much trouble renting/obtaining permission to use a dance studio? I wonder if one could rent out a roller rink for the same use?

I'm afraid I'll have to miss this meeting unless it's in the evening. Looks like I'll be in Boston every weekend for the foreseeable future - please post the times. Sounds like a lot of fun. You mention 6 machines - does this mean that non-owners can come??

Hey guys, I'm in NYC this week and have been using my segway a lot. NYC is one of THE BEST cities to use a segway, no doubt about it. I have passed many police officers and have not had any issues... although the legal issue comes into my mind each time. I will be gliding throughout the Times Square area, often 7th ave. through W 25th street over the next couple of days... if you see me, stop and say hi. I would like to attend the NYC segway gathering sunday, but I may be heading back to boston on sat. If I'm around, I'd like to join... i met many of you in Chicago.

I was going to put a long post about how excellent NYC is as a Segway city, but figured I'd just mention it here for now. Even during rush hour near MSG, I was able to safely and easily navigate through the crowds. Everyone has been friendly so far and to my surprise, even New Yorkers are still curious and interested in the Segway. Those of you who live in the city must already know all this... but this is my second time coming down from Boston and using the segway in the city and it is truly beneficial, convenient, and certainly should become legal!
