Again the conversational aspect and public interest all change with where your at. I own a GMC Vandura. Its great for hauling my segway but it is bad on gas, you have to smog it, sensor here sensor there~~~ any way 450.00 dollars later its road worthy. The auto mall that I had it towed to was 7.6 miles from my home. A great strech of ruial road with little or no cars. I followed the power up and mobilty that was suggested on the latest FAQ page at segway and I only used 1/4~1/3 of the power. I rode it right into the dealership and was mobbed by auto mechanics and salesmen. The owner wanted to ride it but he can afford to buy one (Cool Corvette). Just a note have a nice day seggers and "Roll with IT"

I regularly pass by a Midas/Valvoline/Jiffy Lube, and everyone stares. I fear the one time I need to get something from there I'll be asked for a demo ride, and, well, they had better wash their hands!

Consider trading a demo for an oil change.....afterall, didnt you pay almost 5k for the machine? It's more than fair....as owners we should not be expected to give anyone and everyone a ride. I have basically quit giving demos, but the last select demo did result in free lunch. Think about the possibility of someone breaking your machine and all you get is a " gee....I'm sorry "

I gave some demos (owner, mechanics, sales people, etc...) at the Saab dealer across the street from work. A month later they started carrying Vespa's. I wonder what they are up to.

Increasing their sales ?? Anyway, now you have a good reason to stop by and take a Vespa for a drive. I've never driven one but they look like fun........and my girlfriend wants one.

Progressive has a web site progressive.com that will give you a quote and agent contact info based on your location, age, driving record etc, all online, no obligation. Under the insurance type just scroll down to segway HT.

My Segway insurance is only 104.00 per year thru Progressive...and I believe it has a 250.00 deductable. 104.00 is not bad for living in lawsuit crazy South Florida !!
