I had an idea... everyone's always complaining about how hard it is to see the charge indicator... so I came up with this. Why not put the charge indicator in the display? It'd be much easier to see there. It could look something like this:
Charge test (when first plugged in):

Fast charge:

Cell balance/top off process:

I love your graphics! Good Work!
If LLC doesn't adopt your approach maybe Wayne can make a "black box" that plugs in between the grey plug port and the power cord and contains a sensor with your great display indicators?

Derek,
I really like that. I'm with Peter, LLC should take note of this.
Keep up the good work. You always have something new to show us.

The "Charge Complete" icon makes it appear that you need to charge the HT. All of them are great though!

This has got to be one of the best HT suggestions I have seen![/:)]

Great Idea, I have 2 ht's and when we plan a weekend I usually charge them in the truck. I have a special mirror on a telecoping wand to check the charge. It a pain in the ?#*& but it works. Your idea is too good to pass up. LLC should adopt it.

Beautiful suggestion Derek. LLC would have to send each one of us an updated display LCD, but that's cool. While they're updating the displays, why not pixelate the display and add another button to switch from one set of information to another... Let me illustrate:
Default: Battery level/operation mode (balance/power assist)
Option 1 (after 1 button press): Speed/distance (total)
Option 2 (after another button press): Speed/distance (trip) [hold down the option button to reset]
Option 3 (etc.): Efficiency: Avg. speed, optimal gliding angle, battery drain, other relevant info.
back to Default after another button click.
If the button is too overengineerred, how about the entire display plastic be a button which can be tapped to toggle between information.
I'll put together something graphical, should post my ideas (incorporating Derek's brilliant display as the Default with his permission)

Good job on the display. Mabey the new models could have this feature so people who buy the used models would know for sure what year it was produced. 2006 Battery display / 2005< none. Cool.

Very very cool! Wish leds could have layers so you could have that charge plug or bolt where the face is. LLC should at least look into adding a yellow light!
