Today I was walking past a brookstone when I noticed a segway i-s half hidden behind its own info board. It took a while to convince myself it was real and then walked over. After having a nice conversation with the manager I asked him if there was a demo job open. He was allready impressed by the amount of info that I knew and was quick to respond that he was thinking about finding some help. So he asked me a few questions and ended it with the killer "how old are you?". I shouldn't have answered. Im not old enough to become a paid brookstone employee. But I offered to come and do it for free during some of my free time. We just left it at that with my phone number. Woohoo! In just a few months I will be old enough to get paid doing something that I love! (crosses figers) Hopefully! And it would be even better if Im allowed to demo it during my free time!

I'm wondering the same thing, Mattk. How old does one have to be to work at a mall store? Gotseg probably knows way more than anyone in the entire state of Virginia about Segways, little do the Brookstone employees know about Segwaychat and the wealth of information that is shared. Hopefully, they'll call you to be a demo person, and will give you some freebies for your time and effort.

Hey Gotseg....just some friendly advise, you can take it or leave it, but you should never give your services away for free unless it's a charity. Makes getting paid much more difficult later. Negotiate some form of payment, petty cash payout, perhaps a free lunch for you at the mall food court for two hours of demos ,or trade your time for products ( they get a good deal because they buy em at wholesale ). Have fun.....

Good idea, Steve. They should be able to barter some of their products for his time and expertise.
