Hey, let's take bets on how long before a reporter writes:
"The price was dropped on the Segway in response to sluggish sales and concerns about safety in light of the recent recall."
They have to mention the price drop, sales figures AND the recall in the same sentence.
I got dibs on the first article to get printed about the price drop. Any takers?

My guess is: If you bet against this you will lose!!
Steve
well, we should start a game called "journalist bingo"...each time an unreasearched phrase, words or person is used in a segway store, it goes on our bingo boards. here's a start...
overweight americans
the $5,000 scooter
pedestrian group says x
get/use/try a bicycle
recall because of <insert wrong info here>
george bush
low sales <with incorrect info>
ban in san francisco
gary rivlin
karl ulrich
etc..
i might make a segway story generator, just to make it easy on these folks.
cheers,

Better than that, PT, a DRINKING GAME!
Naaah... that wouldn't work. It'd soon get out that Segway riders were CONSTANTLY DRUNK!!!

I've already started my own little game. With each new glide I'm hoping to top my previous glide's "shoutouts." Two days ago I got "Homo!" yelled from a passing car and "Walk, you lazy fag!" from a passing SUV. The goal is to get three shoutouts tomorrow on my way into work. Not sure what the sexually-angled insults have to do with a Segway but, hey, as long as I can beat the previous day's tally I'll consider my glide a success! To be fair, I'm not riding in any homosexually suggestive way... whatever that might be. I think the shoutouts have more to do with the shouter's sublimated desires and fear of discovery, evidenced, on their part, by a rapid lead-foot accelerated escape from the scene.
can we add -who- says those things for extra points, for example. if they're in a suv and yell "lazy", double points.
i think we have a good game here.
cheers,
pt
Love that game dleesim!
I have suggested starting an ongoing thread of negative segway comments/shoutouts, I don't think the idea has flown very far.
Most insulting shoutouts I have heard so far:
"use your legs, you pu**y!" from a group of teens in a volvo stationwagon
"...idiot!" From a gentleman in a car marked handicapped.
"Go home, assh*le" From a group of adults in a car at a red light intersection
"F**k you!" From 3 teens in a pickup truck

How about max points when someone says SERIOUSLY "Omigosh, that thing must be really hard to balance if our President could fall off!"

Here was a funny one, with a comeback that would have had me eating teeth.
A big biker dude on a Harley said "I saw the guys in West Hollywood (a gay neighborhood) riding that."
My unspoken response: "I saw the women in West Hollywood riding THAT!"

Good response, I would not let it go unspoken. I haven't yet had any negative comments but then there's not as many people around here. I haven't had to "wave" yet. On the contrary, I was gliding the sidewalk alongside our local H.S homecoming parade 2 weeks ago and the flatbed truck with the varsity team and all the cheerleaders cheered, waved, and thought it was cool, and told me to drop in behind them. So I did, and was able to glide right up behind the truck and got a kiss on the cheek from a cheerleader. More cheers.
If I had tried that any other way I'm sure I would have got drop kicked by a jock.
