As in everything else, it takes time. The car, train and airplane all took years before they were accepted by the masses. I believe most if not all of us here on Segwaychat are in this for the long haul.
I actually find a large number of people that I speak to when I'm on my Segway tell me that this is the future. It's funny how some can see this, while many cannot. Probably a large number of us who saw the Segway unveiled on Good Morning America almost 2 years ago said this very same thing, "This is the future", and we wanted to be a part of it. I know I searched for a good hour before I found the Segway web site. I coludn't think of anything else that day or the next and the next.
I also expect SEGWAY to live FOREVER !!!
and have a lot of fun along the way!

Several weeks ago, one of the first people to stop me and ask me about the Segway was a mom and her young son (about 10 yrs old). As I described the Segway to them the young boy declared " hey, it's a future car! "
The Segway and the young are our future.

Yeah, I'd like to see my outlive my academic career (that's 6 years folks, not 2 months, heh). It'd be a real testament to the quality - even if I go through a few powerbases now and then.
long live the HT!

Cruzan Glider, so true. I noticed at the Bay Area SEG meeting that kids really "got" the concept of the HT quickly. They didn't think it was silly, or a toy, or anything like that. To them, it was a vehicle. They were also quick to trust the machine, having little to no wobble. Being exposed to these innovative ideas at such a young age is great for them. I wish that I could have seen something like the Segway when I was a little tyke. Its really a whole new world that these young kids are growing up in ( I felt so old writing that).
