Any Owners Attending Ticket to Ride in LA?

Just curious if anyone who has ordered their HT will be attending the Ticket to Ride event in LA on Tuesday 12/17?

i'll be there with a pal! though i haven't heard back about my time yet; they asked me for my pref. time and I said "my day is free, whenever you want to schedule me is ok." i also haven't heard the location yet in l.a., did they tell you?

I am jealous. I got a ride in october and would kill (well, not quite kill) for another. These devices are addictive... :) Enjoy the glide, as it is said, you will not be disappointed (and if you are, you can give me your seg ;) ).

I know my buddy J10 will be there in San Diego on Monday. He's really looking forward to it.

Rats...sorry I won't be able to see either of you (Bruce and LookForward). I had placed my reservation request for 12:00 so I could sneak out of work and take an extended lunch out that way.

Oh well, if I am not being "watched" when I return, I'll post a quick update when I get back to the office in the afternoon.

robb-- yeah, love the idea of starting a socal segway club, we can go for rides at the beach, 3rd st. promenade, century city mall, the grove, griffith park, and so forth. excellent. looking forward to hearing your report on sofitel tomorrow, I'm guessing they'll have built an obsticle course either in a very large ballroom or in the bottom of the (underground) parking structure.

Just got back from LA. Was pretty crowded (7pm)

They had a 'roped' off area.

Basically an small area to move and turn. Nothing fancy.

THe Segway people were very nice and let me ride for as long as I wanted (which was still too short.)

I foresaw that problem. I showed up at 3 in the afternoon instead of my evening time. I was there for some pretty slow times in the day. I got 3 rides!

Had my first ride today! Awesome!! It really felt so natural. There were not many people at the time I went so I was on for probably a half hour.
Got stuck in traffic on the way home, couldn't stop looking at the mostly empty sidewalks and thinking how easy it could be if only I had my Segway.

Now the wait until March...
