Hey guys, I hear a lot about people starting with the black and those proud of advancing to red. People have said they used black for demos and red to get around. So I'm wondering, does anybody actually use the yellow key?

Well, in some states, the top speed allowed on the sidewalk by legislation is 8mph - those would be the ones where the yellow speed would be the most appropriate, I would think. That said, since it's not an issue in Florida, I don't. I can go slow on red, so I don't worry about it.

i've never used mine--i've always
used "red." regrets?--none.
"division one" used the "black" key
for my training, but that was after
i had been gliding for 4 days, so it
was pretty much, "academic."
i carry the "black" key, though, for
demos, which i'll _never_ do on "yel-
low" or "red."
i think for some people, or for some
conditions, the "yellow" key is ap-
propriate. someday, i'll have
occasion to use it, i'm sure.
kthxbye.

When I first got my HT I spent a couple of days on the black key and then spent a couple of days on the yellow before going red. Now I only use the red Key. I still use the yellow key... but only for friends of mine that have got familiar enough on the black but I'm not ready for them to go to the red![8]

I spent my first week on the black key and my second week on the yellow before I graduated myself up to the red. I use the yellow key to let my friends who have gotten comfortable gliding on the black key and are ready for a little more speed. I never let friends glide on the red key as they just dont ever ride my seg often enough that I feel safe with them handling the red's top speed and very fast turning.

I know of some people who have had "commute keys" made, with yellow speed (for range) but red turning rate (because it is awesome. Individual opinon may vary =)).

Fear not, for even though I come from the Forbidden City, I surely do not agree with the rules.

Since all I use (except for demos) is the red key I got Deviant to make my yellow key the same as my red key.
If I want to go 8 MPH I just slow down.

We use the yellow key inside our plant for safe movement of our segways... Red key outside, black is mine, for my training classes.
Works pretty well with other machines with a better chance of winning any head to head (IE Fork Truck) :)
