These can be attached to the belly of your Segway with the same plastic 'velcro' used by Segway to attach the rubber "Segway" logo bumper:

Color-Shifting LED light from Color Kinetics: can be set on one color or can shift between colors or do a white light or strobe. Looks pretty cool while riding: www.cksauce.com or toys-r-us or http://www.cksauce.com/products/LightSaucer/index.htm

Two flat white LED superbright flashlights. They last forever and attach nicely to the underside of the Segway. Some people may think your light should be up high but I *totally* disagree - the lower the light is, the more likely you'll see bumps, jumps, cracks, and holes in the streets and sidewalks. The higher it is, the less accentuated the shadows become, which can be dangerous! www.ledtronics.com or something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3625425393&category=2904

Siemens HHB-500 Bluetooth Earset - I used to have the Sony Ericsson HBH-60 but it wasn't loud enough, the noise canceling wasn't that great and the battery only lasted for a few hours of talk time. You can get it at www.expansys.com - this puppy lasts for about 6 hours of talk time and 5 days of standby time, works a good 30 feet from my phone, and the noise cancellation is so good that I can talk on the phone while gliding or even in my super loud jeep with the windows down and people think I'm inside my house! If you're looking for a great phone with bluetooth, try the Sony Ericsson P800 - you can get it at www.just-talk.com

I don't want locks strapped around the control stick, lighting with wires protruding anywhere, or the like. I would prefer it all to be hidden rather than looking like something I bought from Sanford and Son.

I'm now looking for a bag that'll fit down towards the platform, inbetween my feet, so that I don't have to have one sitting way up high...

I too like the low light idea. A buddy of mine sells fossils for a living, and he searches his quarry at night. He shines a light at ground level so the fossils relief shows more easily.

Good point! IMHO, I think one of Segway's priorities for any future HTs should be building lighting into the HT. Some of the HTs I've seen look like someone's high-school shop project gone awry, with straps, cables, and wires dangling everywhere! [:P]

Ben,
I saw a Seg at SegwayFest (Chris from Boston?) that had about 6 battery powered lights on the belly of the Seg attached with velcro. It looked really cool at night-- like it was floating.
Does anyone have pics of it?

Yeah, I do, but not of them turned on in the dark, just the bottom of the Seg. Probably not worth posting.
