View Full Version : do your part: act now...
folks,
on amazon many people create "so you'd like to..." comments, this is also true for the segway ht. some are okay- most are written by people who do not understand or cannot imagine what a segway ht is (hey we were all there once). which is totally fine, but we can also do the same and explain to folks why -we- decided to get a ht. the system is set up so it works both ways (amazon's system is great in that regard).
so go do your part, others have, we can too.
to make one go to:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/guide-create/ref=cm_bg_create_dp/
follow the instructions, make sure to use the segway asin
<ASIN: B00007EPJ6>
if you're looking for other asin's (you need 3) feel free to use the ones i did...some books i co-authored.
<ASIN: 0735711771>
<ASIN: 0201725843>
or anything else of course :-]
cheers,
pt

I see what you mean. One person uses the guide as a soapbox for pedestrian/sidewalk issues. They also tell people to take a walk and lower their blood pressure. UGH.
Like PT says on his site, banging my clothes with rocks will give me exercize too, but it's just not efficient.
I'll write mine up after I have my test ride, at least then I'll have some standing better than people who call it a two-wheeled-bullet sight unseen.
it's their right to use that as a soapbox, but we can too :-]

I see these guys yelling at a brick wall. Do people really impulse buy something that costs $5000? Hell no! They know they want one and they could care less if Joe Blow for Ostajkal, Indiana says that he dosn't want to be hit in the croch (not making this up) with the handel bars. I think the pedestrian rights activists are about as big of a threat as the guy on the soap box on the street corner.
I agree, educate the public, but I have NEVER looked at the reveiws of a product before. I go to Disney World every year or so, but am I stoped by the pastors who say it's evil and creates satanic things? NO! There idiots out to get fame and fortune.
I'm not saying Segway's perfect. Nor is it the one all cure for short distance transportation. Bikes, walking, skating, and boarding will still take place, mabey even more, when this becomes main stream. Imagine nobody using their cars unless they travel more than 15 miles. It's briliant. But just like the computer and human contact, it won't kill a single aspect of it unless you willingly mis use it. Let them yell at walls and wear T-Shirts around saying "I Love Walk, DAMN THOSE SEGWAYS!!!" at their pro-walking "Limbs will be everywhere" meetings.
Read the facts. Ride one. But don't complain untill you understand it.
