Thanks a lot Frank, you and the others built a very nice site here.
The FIRST forum was also an exceptionally good idea, you deserve all the recognition and publicity. Sorry, that I was snowed in lately ...
Also, congrats on your test drive! Hopefully some day soon you can also keep it. But the best news ever was that Brooster is going to get his any day now!

Don't forget Lawrence, Charmed and NoCan. They are also founding members. They've been involved since day one, along with Brooster :)

Thanks np, good to see you over here.

For those of you too "busy" to look it up, this is what np's link contains about us. It is a link to our home page.

Yes, thanks to Alan Boyle of Cosmic Log at URL

http://www.cosmiclog.com

Alan is the Science Editor of MSNBC Online and also writes a great Science Weblog.

Are any Segways heading to NYC before December 15? Mayor Bloomberg is planning to buy a new bycicle.

Alan is well known in the weblog community. I'm quite honored that he notes us in his log. Although, it's hard to beat being mentioned on http://www.neuroprosthesis.org/blogger.html ;)

For those who don't Know NP, he was/still is a very respected forum contributor who popped in from time to time when the world speculated about project Ginger - now known as the Segway-HT.

Hi np, someone asked what was 5G a few places back. Now being a present glider I have to ask this dumb question. What is a bicycle?:D[V];) Was it created BS- before Seg or AS- after Seg. Probably BS. Does the Mayor of New York look at GMA? Oh well to each his own.

Thanks for sharing Frank. U did all the hard work and made the investment. Casey is doing a fine job as moderator and keeping the news section updated. The rest of us mostly contributed with suggestions and stimulating discussion.

Congrats with receiving some well deserved recognition Frank. I am fairly sure the site will continue to grow and prosper even if new forums start popping up.

What is a bicycle?:D[V];)

Bicycle or "bio-mechanical personal assistive mobility device" (BPAMD) means an organically balanced device with two wheels in tandem, designed to transport one or more persons by a carbohydrate/fat propulsion system, having a maximum speed of 72.75 mph and a 24 hour range of 624.64 miles. Over 100 million units were manufactured worldwide in 2000 alone. Street legal in all 50 states with all the rights and privileges of other vehicles.

Sorry, but the mayor of NYC can't operate a Segway. They aren't legal yet, and with the most restrictive sidewalk laws in the US, may never be.

That was me. And I forget what thread it was in so I don't know if you ever answered it.

My answer there and here is this:

In common vernacular g = grand = $1000.

5g = $5000

Your vernacular was common in Al Capone's days, Casey, but today folks -- even those who never use the metric system for anything -- say $5K, especially folks who know their way around a computer.

Hodgepoj,

Actually, young adults today are using the term "G" to represent $1,000 dollars. I guess everything old becomes new again, huh? Take it from someone who knows a lot of young adults :)

By the way, please refrain from correcting the vernacular of others. If you don't understand what someone meant, simply ask for a clarification and leave it at that. If you feel compelled to correct someone's use of the English language, send them a polite e-mail. Otherwise, please focus on keeping the threads on topic :)

And what does this have to do with the Segway HT? Absolutely nothing!

So, please, let's move on.

Thanks!
