Frank Tropea wrote "SegwayChat.com, as its name implies, is a forum for discussion about the transporter, which looks a little like a vertical, parallel-wheeled scooter."

Looks like? It IS a vertical, parallel=wheeled scooter. As far as I know, all scooters are parallel-wheeled.

Should we go for transverse?

I'm 99.9% sure I never said that, so I'm not sure where hodgepoj is quoting me from.

The quote is a quote of Silicon.com" Those are not Franks words, but those of the author, Tony Hallett.

"The site covers the invention and its creator, Dean Kamen, and stands alongside the official www.segway.com website."

"SegwayChat.com, as its name implies, is a forum for discussion about the transporter, which looks a little like a vertical, parallel-wheeled scooter, and a place to find "updates on state sidewalk legislation status", which is important if SHTs are ever to become widely used in the US."

Frank if you do a site search on parallel-wheeled scooter you will find the phrase. I don't know who said it. Looks like a quote.

Yeah, I see it now. Well that was written by the author of the article. Not my own words :)

Although it's cool to see an article mention SegwayChat.

OK Hodgepoj, I see where you got it from now..

I once quoted from the article and posted it here on SegwayChat. Those are quotes from the article and not my own words.

That explains that :)

I don't know who said it, Frank, but your name is on it. But it's not a bad statement, just a bit redundant.

Yeah, I didn't say it.

If you notice, those two statements are in "quotes" meaning I was "quoting" a source. I do that from time to time in order to post a bit from an article/site I'm linking to. In that thread, I posted a link to a Silicon.com article and posted two quotes from it.

The person who originally wrote those comments was the author of the article. I assume he's a Silicon.com reporter.

You are re-posting a thread from this forum. The purpose of the thread was just to bring attention to the article.

Anyone still confused?

Yes. What does "redundant" mean, and why is it in "quotes"?. Is it not "redundant" to keep posting about "quotes" and then "quoting" the "redundancy"? Are we still "waiting" to get our "Segways" and looking for things to "say"? Curious- "John"

All great threads must die, eventually. This one just did ;)
