Has anyone experienced major problems that needed major repair? If so, how'd you get it fixed?
I live overseas and worry if I bring one over I will have a tough time getting it fixed. Thank you.
none here.
that said, living overseas and getting a segway ht fixed would mean shipping it to a usa address, then getting support then shippinh it back, it's not "tough" just time consuming and complicated to coordinate, which by many definitions is tough :-]

Anyone been doing 'basic' maintenance, like lubing the wheels or anything?

Mechanicals seem unchanged. I had been worried that my batteries were loosing umph over the last five months, but I think that their ultimate capacity is quite similar to when they were new. In the first week of gliding, I ran up to a restaurant in the hills behind my office to see how much charge that would eat. The restaurant is about 1200 feet up and 2.5 miles away. Most of the charge got eaten going up, but a large portion returned on rolling back down. Total loss, about 30% for the round trip.
I did the same course today with a full charge and lo and behold: (I still don't know how to lo) the gauge reported the same thing upon arrival back at the office. But atop the hill, the gauge read lower after the run up, this time. Perhaps that's a sign of some long-term charge fatigue. I keep it plugged in when not in use.

Thanks for the feedback. I have heard Segway won't transfer the warranty to a 2nd buyer if I bought it used. I can ship to my US address then get it out from there.
Is there a maintaince course in NH? But if there doesn't seem to be maintaince a normal person could do then that's good news.
If only PCs and cars ran as well...
I bought mine from an elderly gentleman who got LLC to transfer the warranty to me. It was a special circumstance though. The Segway was only used during the orientation.

There is a maintenance course. It's been available in the past only to people who would be doing maintenance for the HTs they bought for their business - you would need to call Segway about it.

I guess my main question is if segway may be willing to transfer the warrenty to any second buyer. For thoes people buying segways on ebay, im guessing it is not comming with the warrenty?
gotseg?
To the best of my knowledge, they're not coming with warranties. You would have to contact Segway directly to confirm. As with Sulkarni, there may be some individual circumstances that would prevail.
