I was reading in the post about meter readers and saw there was a side discussion about how to refer to what you are doing when riding/driving a Segway HT. Since pt and I have begun to use our Segway - we've actually adopted both verb and noun versions of the name Segway and it seems to feel right. For example - "hey hon I'm going to segway(v) over to Jill's house, I'll be back soon." or "earlier when I was on a segway(i.e. journey,n)I realized that I had forgotten to bring my wallet and had to turn around". It's weird how those terms have already worked themselves into our vocabulary - but then again it's weird that we actually have one of these in our living room!

According to the concise Oxford dictionary, ninth edition, "segue" - the orignial - is also both a noun and a verb. No doubt the folks at Segway LLC had this in mind. Dictionaries will soon begin to list "segway (v. & n). 1. n. a mode of transportation commonly know as the Segway HT. 2. v. to travel fluidly and seemlessly via the mode Segway HT."

Flashgoirl it's ok to forget your wallet when go Seg because you don't have to buy any gas. BUT just don't forget your power cord. The voice of experience. Plus keep the cell phone handy also just in case you forget the power cord.

Flashgoirl I try to always call the Segway by it's short name.
What else but the SEG.
