I was commuting to work not too long ago when I came across one of those mobile traffic radar speed announcement trailers parked on the side of the road.

I wondered if it would be able to notice me on the Seegway. I set my digital camera (in movie mode) on a garbage can and ride out to be in front of the radar and then rode past it.

For the RealPlayer version of the movie (about 850k):

Interesting ! If I can get my car to be as invisible.. Maybe your body deflected the radar waves...............

Right, Bruce. The radar gun clocked me at 12 mph. The digits appear to blink individually because of the shutter speed/frame rate of the camera almost syncing with the blink rate of the display.

It took me 9 tries of recording me riding past the radar station before I got a good one. There kept being interference from cars behind me or going in the opposite direction. One time, the wind knocked the camera off of it's perch on top of the garbage can. And right in the middle of all of this, the garbage truck came by and emptied the garbage can I was using as my tripod.

If anyone was watching me from thier house nearby, they must have though I was crazy. That's OK, though, this isn't the first time people have thought that about me.
