This may be old news but it's new news to me!
Tonight, the night before the Pasadena Gold Line opens (VIPs only tomorrow, the public the day after) my wife and I took a look at the Holly St. station. It's a gorgeous station built below a brand new apartment complex north of Old Town.
So we're standing there when a uniformed Metro Transit Authority security fellow glided up on a Segway. I asked him what's up and he said the MTA cops and the Sheriffs have been testing them out and it's going great. He loves the Seg (they've been testing two) and is fairly sure they're going to authorize them for use. How cool is that?!
