This is a busy weekend in sf. Any local segwayers planning to attend?
I'm planning on traveling the parade route after the main parade and then on to the celebration area near civic center. I want to see how this tolerant diverse community reacts to the HT. Join me!

Why not be in the parade?

just got back from my trek to downtown sf on the HT. Handled the civic center crowds beautifully! Lots of interest as most people had never seen one live before. Nearly 99% positive response --most people I spoke to questioned the sf ban after seeing how safe and stable the Seg is even in very crowded conditions. A SFPD officer seemed particularly interested, but declined a test ride fearing it would be politically incorrect since they're banned on the sidewalk!
Only one or two negative jabs -- one guy called it the 'people killer' but didn't actually hang around long enough to see how safe I was. Didn't see any other segs, but one person said they had seen one earlier near the parade route on Market St. All in all a fun run for HT and rider.

Cool Steve!
I was there down by 4th St (without my Seg). But I didn't see you. How many bars did you have left when you were done?
Did you go all the way down the parade route from Embarcadero?

No Sleepy, I got there a little late, about 2:30 , parked way down folsom near caesar chavez. So I pretty much headed straight to civic center. I was 'cruising' so slow there I probably used only one bar in the crowds. Then heading back I almost got lost not being an sf local. Luckily my GPS finally got me back on track, about two bars left after cruising for 4 hours/ plus an unknown number of miles

I knew I should have loaded my Segway into the car and headed up to the parade.

It seems like there are a lot of ups and downs for the Segway gliders in San Francisco. Lincoln [8D]
