I remember when I was a kid I used to know every nook and crannie in my neighborhood and town. I lost that intimate knowledge when began to drive. Today as I glided back from the pub (I only had two pints) I realized that I knew every crack, pothole, uneven pavement, short cut, and where some of the regular locals would be sitting on my way home. I wave at folks that I gave demos to 2 months ago. I know where they are and they know that'll I'll be gliding by soon. This is what living in a community is all about. What's it like in NY, Chicago or LA?

I'm not from the larger cities, but you are right. A glider learns all the potholes, cracks, etc. My family got me a Segway LLC light for when I come from work after sunset. It's not as necessary as they might think, I have learned every little nook and crany. I can bob and weave around the potholes almost blindfolded.

Follow your bliss,
Ron

We live in a suburb just outside of Chicago but are in the city for business everyday and some times with the Seg. Wherever we go we get the kind of response that you speak of. It is more pronounced in our little village, but I had a customer come in our store, in Chicago, that had seen me gliding around the area earlier in the week and had noticed me when I went by. We had a nice long converstion about the merits of the HT. She now looks for us to go by. The HT is a tremendous social ice-breaker whether in the city or suburbs!:D

I believe this is a main reason for the Cellebration Florida trial.
