I'm am confused about the training. I live in San Marino(near pasedena and LA). Where am I suppose to go for the training? Also is training required? Do I have to schedule an appointment? Please give me as much info as you can. Thanks.
the best thing to do call segway 1-866-4SEGWAY but here's the way it works.
you order a segway.
they contact you.
they schedule training (product orientation).
training (product orientation)now consists of someone coming out to your house to personally orient you!
it is required.
cheers,

It took them ten days to finally send my contact email after I ordered my Segs. I actually called them the day before I received it and they were still willing to work out the training.
I'd give they a week to process your order and call the number pt gave above and tell them you need to schedule your training. In my case, there was not any training available in the northwest before my segs were going to be ready to ship, so once my ship date is confirmed, a trainer will contact me and arrange to come to me for training.
Did you get the Fathers Day special with your order? I ordered a week too early.

I didn't order yet. Only think stopping me is the price. I really want one. Just gathering info. Chance of getting one. Do you have to be trained to ride one. I mean like what if I let my sister ride, does she have to be trained?
josephhkim-
you need to be trained to ride for anything more than a 1-5 minute demo i feel. you can let your sister ride, just like you can let her drive your car or borrow your chainsaw.
i would say, it's a personal decision there. if someone wants to use my segway more that 2 feet away from, they need to get some training :-]

Welcome Joseph! I'm a Joseph too! And I'm in Pasadena.
Your training will probably be in West L.A. Just enjoy the time there and pay attention to all that they teach you.
