I was looking on the wayback machine at the Segway.com web site for parts of 2002. Check this page out:

NiCad and NiMH batteries; "e and i series available to enterprise customers initially, while the p Series will be available in late 2002."
It looks like Segway's plans changed a bit--but I'm sure glad they did. The i looks like it rocks.
BTW, it looks like a company named "Signal Internet Technologies" owned the domain name segway.com back in 1998 (or was maybe a host for someone, etc.) -- I wonder if the domain just expired or if Segway bought the rights :)
