Somebody new selling Segway

Looks like Segway is really going after the consumer market now. In addition to Amazon, Sporty's Pilot Shop (I'm told it's a popular aviation supply catalog) is carrying the Segway.

Ain't that interesting! Kind of different -- they only ask for a $150 deposit! And there's suspiciously no mention of the final price on the site at all -- not that I could find, anyway!

Any idea if the LLC warrenty goes along with the ht if you buy from them? So far only 3 places are noted as true segway representative. Amazon, neverland + JMLexus.

Or am i wrong? Has LLC started an afflate program?

The warranty is only given to the original owner, UNLESS you buy from NEVrland, Amazon.com or one Lexus dealership. Only these locations are authorized resellers, so anywhere else you would be paying more!

I was wondering about this stuff too, so I spoke to Segway and Sporty's. Segway didn't give tons of details, but they did say that Sporty's is an authorized dealer and will grant you the full warranty.

The price is, like most everywhere, $4950--which includes training and all. They said that they were asked not to put the price online, only in their print catalog. Sporty's also has a one year guarantee that they claim applies in full to our dear Segway.

How to Buy Your Segway HT:
Like riding a bike, driving the Segway HT is easy once you have experience, but some basic instruction is needed. Sporty's is an authorized Segway orientation center and will be happy to schedule a session at your convenience. You must complete orientation in order to purchase a Segway HT.

1. Call 1.800.SPORTYS (776.7897), 24 hours a day, and order product #SEGWAY.
2. At that time, make a $150 deposit.
3. You will receive a welcome kit explaining the features of the Segway HT and asking you to schedule a training session.
4. After completing your 90 minute orientation at Sporty's, you will pay the balance of the purchase price. You may take your Segway HT with you, or we will ship it to your home.
